Overview

The Regional Manager blends business acumen and operational knowledge to drive business results and deliver a stellar guest experience while building a high-performing team. 

 

Responsibilities

• Achieves overall sales, KPI and profit goals of 4- 6 assigned locations in a demographic market.
• Manages the complete operations of his/her “home” store as an on-the-floor leader. Performs all functions and ensures employees are effective at executing corporate initiatives in a timely, efficient and resource-wise manner. Delegates tasks appropriately and holds team accountable.
• Directly supervises and leads the sales, operations, and staff development of an assigned market of retail cigar stores and smoking lounge/ bars to achieve maximum profitability, compliance and productivity at the local level.
• Models and ensures all Casa de Montecristo policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are communicated effectively to employees, maintained and consistently followed. Ensure compliance to all state and local regulations. Maintains comfortable, responsible and safe environments.
• Analyzes and measures retail business trends. Seeks opportunities and implements plans to increase topline retail sales and profitability of assigned market through product education, events, and outside partnerships.
• Full P&L responsibility for all assigned locations. Monitors all expenses and costs within the market to achieve positive store contribution and be in line with the set budget objectives.
• Manages and approves inventory, controls shrink and retail supply expenses in the market.
• Recruit, train and lead a team of top performing managers and associates. Challenges and inspires others to achieve and execute sales driving initiatives.
• Monitors and manages store staffing levels, proactively and according to the needs of the business.
• Maintains an active performance development process. Provides coaching in the moment and performance feedback to employees. Conducts formal performance reviews.
• Acts as an ambassador for the brand within his/her market. Responsible for the location’s external relations within the competitive environment. Active participant in local networking, marketing, events and activities.
• Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, across the organization.
• Maintains visual standards within the market to support the brand image.
• Demonstrates an energetic, persistent and professional demeanor at all times.
• Other duties as assigned by the Retail Director.

Qualifications

• Ambitious self-starter, adept at leading through others to consistently deliver superior results.
• A track record of motivating and inspiring a team of individuals to meet challenging standards.
• Demonstrated flexibility and emotional intelligence to confront frequently changing business conditions with energy and accountability.
• Solid business acumen, with experience managing a retail or restaurant P&L.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Uses data to make informed decisions with pace.
• Five plus years of retail or hospitality management experience. Multi-unit retail/hospitality experience is preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Ability to work a flexible schedule (night, weekends, holidays)

• Superb oral and written English communication skills
• Hands on team player with a strong work-ethic
• Ability to travel, as required (up to 50%)
• Proficient with Word, Excel, and Outlook

 

Work Environment Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to smoke or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/ or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands, reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel or sit; the employee must frequently lift and/ or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.
